What Are Foldable Solar Panels?

Solar panels that are not permanently fixed in one place and can be compacted down to an easily transportable form can be considered "foldable". Foldable panels are most often used for camping, keeping stored for emergencies or producing backup power for motorhome travel. These foldable solar panels are smaller than the standard panels you see installed on the roof and the ground. Standard residential solar panels typically produce between 250 and 365 watts of power per panel, while foldable panels generate around 100 watts.

Another benefit of the foldable panels is that they can be paired with "solar generators" to for a complete solar panel kit. The solar generator is really a lithium ion battery combined with a power inverter and outlets contained within a small, transportable unit. Depending on the size and model of the unit, they will have outlets for every type of device, from usb chargers for small devices to common 110 Volt outlets that power any household electronics - and everything in between. Each generator unit offers a variety of outlet types.
